Senate finds no al-Qaida-Saddam link
According to the report, postwar findings indicate that Saddam "was distrustful of al-Qaida & viewed Islamic extremists as a threat to his regime." It quotes an
FBI report from June 2004 in which former Prime Minister Tariq Aziz said in an interview that "Saddam only expressed negative sentiments about bin Laden."
Saddam himself is quoted in an FBI summary as acknowledging that the Iraqi government had met with bin Laden but denying that he had colluded with the al-Qaida leader. Claiming that Iraq opposed only U.S. policies, Saddam said that "if he wanted to cooperate with the enemies of the U.S., he would have allied with
North Korea or China," the report quotes the FBI document.
The report said that al-Zarqawi, the al-Qaida leader killed by a U.S. airstrike last June, was in Baghdad from May 2002 until late November 2002. But "postwar information indicates that Saddam Hussein attempted, unsuccessfully, to locate & capture al-Zarqawi

and that the regime did not have a relationship with, harbor or turn a blind eye toward Zarqawi."
In June 2004, Bush also defended Vice President
Dick Cheney's assertion that Saddam had "long-established ties" with al-Qaida. "Zarqawi is the best evidence of connection to al-Qaida affiliates & al-Qaida," the president said.

George W. Bush is a moran. He should be impeached and executed for high treason of the United States of America.
Hes too stupid to think, he paid his way through elementry, middle, high school. and college, if not he would be stuck in the first grade!

It never ceases to amaze me how many people buy into the media hype. The fact of the matter is that what we hear and read in the news media is suspect right from the start. It is well know and has been admitted to by the main stream press that they spin the news. Then if you go to so called no spin arena all you get is their spin on things. The truth is that we will never know the truth of what Bush did or did not know. And by the way, do you have any idea of the magnitude of information that Bush would have to plow through to "know" everything? And do you take into account the fact that he kept a lot people from the Clinton camp on the payroll after he took office? People that already hated him and had it in for him from the beginning. I think that all politician s in this country are corrupt! And the ones that are not so bad?
Well look at what the Democrats are doing to Mr. Lieberman.
If any man alive could have a chance of uniting this country, he would. The republicans hate Mrs. Clinton, and most of the current democrats. And who could blame them? They have don everything they can to undermine the the Bush administration. Even to the detriment of our military troops abroad. And what do you think the republicans will do when the neat democrat gains office? They are all a bunch of assholes with long memories, and we are the ones that will pay the price.

If you want to get technical, what you just said DOES show that Saddam had ties to al-Qaida through al-Zarqawi- just not in the way most people would assume through that statement.
I find it interesting that people constantly talk about how stupid and inept Bush is yet give him ALL the credit for the wrong-doings our government has made. Do you honestly think HE was the one pushing for everything? The more logical conclusion would be that OTHER government officials bent the truth (or flat out lied) in order to get what they wanted.
But yeah, there's not really much of a connection.

, That is what we've been saying all along . I'm sure there are still republicans out there that believe we went into Iraq to fight terrorism . Even after Bush himself , said that we didn't . Why, all that money spent and lives lost , why , why . Bush sent this country off in the wrong direction and we've lost time on this war against the terrorist . If we don't win it , blame Bush !!!!!!!

Hi bunchik, maybe you should have worded your question 'Did Bush ever speak truth and say anything right?'
By the way, the report in question has serious repercussions. For one thing, the trial of Sadam becomes irrelevant and illegal because the means to that end have been proved wrong beyond doubt!

So is this news to you and me, we knew a long time ago that the invasion of Iraq was based on half truths, innuendo's and down right lies from the Bush administration. It is the repuglicans that turn a blind eye as to how bad a president that this idiot really is. 2600 plus of our people and 10's of thousands of Iraqi dead all based on the lies of a coke snorting, alcoholic with no morals.

Why do you worry about it? Why do you believe every thing you hear? Do you really remember Aziz? On the TV interview with American tanks in the back ground, declared the invasion was a lie. What is that you seek? You can't make up your mind.
