Avgcc is the primary program in the AVG anti-virus suite.

What version do you have? Is it the free one?

The most current one I know about is 405a701!

Try this,

Uninstall AVG

Then download and install or try any of these,

Then try to download the free version of AVG again
and install,

Sounds like some kind of collision between multiple programs or a badly written program, try RUNNING MSCONFIG and disable everything but microsoft services then reboot and run that same program if you have no troubles something running in the background is colliding with your program for whatever reason. AVGCC sounds like an antivirus program. IF you are using AVG then USING MSCONFIG enable all microsoft services as well as all AVG stuff in both Services and Startup areas then update AVG and run a Huristic scan of your machine. Make sure your OS is up to date with Windows update and you have the latest version of AVG installed. You might also test your ram with something like latest MEMTEST to insure it is not a hardware thing. These problems can be hard to solve.

Let it quit. Then go to the Control Panel and uninstall AVG from Add/Remove programs. Then try downloading and reinstalling it again, that should solve your problem. A registry scan couldn't hurt either, http://www.ccleaner.com/

If there is another anti-virus program present then it may be conflicting with AVG, choose only one to use. If the problem continues to happen after you uninstall and reinstall it, the easiest thing for me to tell you to do is backup your files and reinstall Windows, there are other solutions, such as checking registry entries manually but that's complicated and time consuming and not even I would do that, I'd just reinstall Windows.

Try running a virus scan. There might be viruses in the computer forcing you to close a program.
