I've had some gelly discharge with small amounts of blood. Feel a ton of pressure. How long will it be?

I've been told that 36 wks is full term, so I didn't figure 1 week would be any harm...
My son came early, and weighed in at 8lbs 5 oz. I've been told she's big, too.

The jelly discharge with a small amount of blood was most likely a portion of your mucous plug. Losing it is just part of the pre-labor process and does NOT mean that you are in official labor. The mucous plug can start to come out days or even weeks before the actual onset of labor. No one can tell you how long it will be before you go into labor. The pressure is a good sign, but that can also be felt for several weeks. A woman's gestation is considered 40 weeks, but can be normal 38-42 weeks depending on a variety of factors.

That was your mucus plug. It probably won't be too long before your baby arrives. You should go to the doctor immediately because at 35 weeks the lungs may not be completely functional. My twins were delivered by emergency c-section and 34 weeks and 5 days. They spent two weeks in the NICU learning to eat and my daughter spent her first day under a ventilation hood.

The discharge was most likely your mucus plug. There's now way to know when labor will begin--you aren't even full term yet so just hang in there. If your baby were born right now there are a lot of dangers to him/her--they need the full 40 weeks in utero.

Personally at this stage I would have gone to the doc asap if I were having your symptoms. Sounds like the beginning of labor to me. You may even be starting to dialate.

Good Luck!

probibly your mucas plug, as far as the pressure goes it's just getting closer to time and the baby may be getting into possition, so I would'nt worry unless you start having contractions.
