I have nearly 6000 books in my small apartment. I keep a list of those that I haven't read ( 118 unread ) I must say that I am not a very fast reader but I read for a long period of time each time and everywhere. If I add those that I have borrowed from friends or public libraries, it is well over 6000 books that I have read in my life. I am 49. I envy those who are fast reader! So many good books to read, and so little time! I have a Flickr group if you are interested to see my books or books of other members.

Gosh, it's so hard to say...
Let's see- there are the romance novels (at least 50), the kindergarten and primary school material (perhaps 100), the horror stuff (about 75), the children's encyclopedia series, Charlie Brown encyclopedia and other reference types (about 50), the Babysitters club, Girl talk, Nancy Drew and other series stuff (about 100), horror/thriller stuff (about 150), high school material (texts & reading stuff- maybe 100), college stuff (texts & reading as an English major- about 200), post college casual and random stuff (about 50), and lots of stuff I'm probably forgetting and therefore under-counting here.

I'll venture a guess and say about 1000. At least. And hey, I'm including comic books and Peter and Jane stuff from the early years! :)
The number might even be closer to 1500. Perhaps more! After all, I started reading much earlier than average and was a bookworm for at least the first 15 years of my life. Plus, I was an English major in college and each class required 3-10 books while all the other courses required at least 1-3. And I'm still into lots of reading (I'm 25)!

I've never kept count. It has to be in the thousands. I average 2 books a week and have been reading for over 30 years.

Several thousand. I have never bothered to count, but just the ones I own copies of number over three thousand, approximately. If you add library books, and books borrowed from friends, and ones I read for school...

Too many to count. I am an avid reader and will have 3 or4 books at a time that I read. It's a great way to escape.

has to be thousands. I started reading at about age seven or eight and would say I average 2 books per week. I'm 34 so it must add up.
