Local agents are once soruce. Here is a link to a website that lists most letting agents throughout UK. http://www.email4properties.co.uk/
Apart form Rightmove (who just list estate agent properties) you can try other websites such as www.simple2rent.co.uk. They carry private ads as well as agents, and there are no fees. However they do not have homes to rent in Cumbria at the moment.

Try searching for estate agents in Cumbria......they let houses too x

you could try having the local paper sent to your house. newspapers will do this for you..failing that put an ad on the cumbrian website..

Have you tried Rightmove.com? could be .co.uk they cover both renting and buying
