in various films i'll see actors and actresses snort cocaine, or smoke a cigarette. im know they dont actually snort or smoke for reals so my question is how do they make it look real? what is the substance they smoke or snort??

I believe the common Cocaine stand in is B12 powder, I think the Porn Star in Nip /Tuck said that in an interview once.
Alcohol is usually just colored water, except in a few cases where real booze is used for last take of the night( Beerfest claimed this and some one else said it too)
Needles are either faked by camera angle, fake limbs, or saline.
Cigarettes can be doubled by Clove cigs w/o tobacco
and Pot is usually just paper rolled to look real.
that is my understanding from what I've seen and read.

the smoking is real. a lot of times actors have to smoke for a certain role and then it's hard for them to quit afterwards. there is no "fake" way to smoke.
as far as appearing to do other drugs ... they do not use real drugs. baking powder is probably used for cocaine. saline for injections. grape juice for wine. apple juice or ginger ale for champagne.
that's what makes them good actors! :)

they prob just use flour or summit and if the realy sctor smoke fags then they would just use more tobacco and they can see wat sort of things people do when they have just taken them and they can act as tho they have as well
