Why do people think that, when they see a black person they expect them to steal. Or when they see a white person they expect them to be responsible. Why do people think that way? People think just because I'm white they can trust me not to steal or expect me to make good grades. I use to think that it was only white people who had these stupid expectaions, but I realize that it's all races that have these stupid @SS rules. What happened to us, we just look at a person skin color and we know what they're capable of. Shouldn't we look at each other as humans and not at each others skin. I know were all different, but we shouldn't divide our diversity in to races. I just don't understand why people are like that.....and I guess I never will.

People get many of their stereotypes from family members and then from the media. What breaks down stereotypes is travel and experience. Once you travel in this world you find that people are generally the same (same desires, fears, hopes) no matter where you go. You treat folks nicely and they will return the favor, most of the time. No one is a stereotype, we are all unique.

Good question, though.

I dunno man. They aren't expectations, they're stereotypes. I'm black, but I've never stolen anything in my life, never got in trouble with the law, make very good grades in school and try my hardest to be a responsible young woman so I can make my family and myself proud. I try to combat those stereotypes. To excel in life and be happy: those are my expectations. The only expectations you should follow are the good ones you hold for yourself. That's all you can do.

i totally agree with you its so stupid we shouldnt judge people on the way they look or anything like that it really is making the world self destructable.

sometimes its better to just forget about those people and live life knowing that you see things fairly and hopefully more people will eventually.

=)

I agree man. I think it's those old people and their thoughts. The younger generation is more sensible about race.

Because people have nothing else better to do, then think about dumb @SS things.
