People at school won't stop asking my boyfriend and I what we did over the summer. The truth is, we only saw eachother once at the very end of the summer and that was it. People ask us how long it's been, and he doesn't even know. He made a new friend and his friend asked us and my boyfriend said, "Was it during the 2nd semester?" I said "We started going out in April." So it's been 5 months now, and we only been on 1 date to a festival, out to eat and got dessert, which all happened last month. We were also planning on going to the dances together such as homecoming, winter formal, and then prom. The truth is, I feel alone a lot because now that school has started, we only talk through myspace and at school in the mornings and then once the bell rings afterschool, because we have no classes with eachother, and not even lunch, and I don't see him in the halls between all 8 periods. I always thought going out was seeing eachother a lot, phone calls, etc. Are we really going out?

~Judging from your question, both by context and content, you're a little (make that a lot) too young and too immature to be concerning yourself with this,

Alot depends on your definition of "going out". By your definition you are not going out. I would definitely say that going out would include seeing each other more & phone calls but, it also depends on your age. I'm assuming that since you mentioned going to Prom that you are old enough to be actually going on dates. If I were you, I would talk to him & let him know how you are feeling. Maybe he feels the same way but hasn't said anything & maybe he just wants to be more on freinds terms than anything else. If you want more out of the relationship then let him know what you want. He doesn't know unless you tell him, don't expect him to just figure it out.

Good luck to you & I hope it all works out.

No your not! If the guy is interested you will be seeing each other after school and going out. And when your not going out he should be calling you. I would talk to him about this but it doesn't sound to me like he is really interested.

Yes dating is spending time with someone but as far as being bf/gf it should be more you think? Talk to him and tell him whats up...you'll get a feeling about your situation once you see his response...hope it goes well.
