We're all posers on the inside. I'm excluding no one- you're a poser, I'm a poser, everyone who answers this question is a poser. Poser= someone who poses. Whether you're dressing in the latest Abercrombie fashions in order to appear "cool", ripping and splattering your jeans with paint in order to appear "artsy" or dying your hair lime green in order to appear like you don't give a ****, you're posing.
We all have this vision of what we want to be, we all dress a certain way in order to be percieved a certain way, and regardless of what anyone might say, we all care what other people think.
There are people, like you say, who pick up the gothic fashion, and then use it as just a fashion, listen to pop music and watch crappy MTV shows about spoiled, rich brats. But there are also people who pick up the style, and then also pick up the music and behavior, but view both as simply extra accessories, extensions of the style, who ignore what they really want to watch or say or do because they don't want to be thought of as posers. These are the people who seem the real deal, but they're more posers than the first group.
So I think we should forget this poser bullshit and let people do whatever the **** they want.

I'm more concerned with what they're like on the inside. Besides, goth is a lifestyle and a state of mind, so I reckon a real goth could wear and watch anything they please. I do get your point, tho: you're mad at people who dress and act the part just because it's fashion. Yup. They're posers.

Yes, but I think all all those pre-teen/teen gorups pretty much all make me want to vomit. It's just asking for less unique individuals, and more confomity to pointless little "i'm gonna go home and cut because I hate life because I listen to emo music and think that's what I'm supposed to do" cults.
REBEL against everyone else! Be who ya freakin want. If you want to be emo then fine but if you're not like that, DON'T BE EMO.
Tis very simple. :)

I guess your inability to accept people for who they are no matter how many facets of character they have in thier individual lifes...makes you annoying too. Not saying your a poser...just annoying.

We all go through this phase as teenagers, so although they annoy me, I understand it. Its people like that who are in their mid 20s or later who really vex me.
