I just had trouble finding moving boxes myself...I would say the best place to go for FREE BOXES is the grocery store. Many times they have piles of boxes in the back and will let you grab a few. If you're going to a grocery store or a Wal-Mart or department store as mentioned above, take a friend or two along to save you trips.
One thing about getting free boxes from stores, it may be easier to get from a mom & pop grocery store or smaller store of some kind. Bigger chains may/may not have regulations about giving boxes away or letting people go in the box area to get them.
Also, do you recall any of your friends moving recently? Maybe they have a bunch of empty boxes sitting around. Worst case scenario, you can get them at U-Haul, but they're crazy expensive...would be better off buying plastic containers at Wal-Mart. Good luck!!

In my area there is a website you can sign up for under freecycle and yahoo has this. People post moving boxes all the time. It is totally free and all you have to do is pick them up. You can also post wanted: Moving Boxes and get some that way if they answer you. Again, all you do is pick them up in your area.

If you want free ones try the following:
Sams
Walmart
Target
Goodies
Kroger
Dollar General
Motels
All of these places have alot of supplies that come in in bulk so they should have huge boxes which they throw away ... just ask them they will give them for free.
Hope this helps you and good luck moving!

U-Haul if you want to pay for them. You can also go to local grocery stores and such and they will give the boxes to you for free as they just throw them away or recycle them.
