Would appreciate it if anyone can help me out on these few problems...its part of my homework and i've figured out most of these questions but I still cannot get these!

1) Estimate the volume of a typical home (1850 sq. Ft. in size and 10ft tall). Answer in units of sq. meters.

2) A hydrogen atom has a diameter of about 10.3nm (nano meters)
a) express this diameter in meters
b) express this diameter in micrometers

3) Simpson drives his car with an average velocity of 45.1 km/h to the east.
a) how long will it take him to drive 140 km on a straight highway? answer in hours
b) how much time would Simpson save by increasing his average velocity to 83.8 km/h to the east? answer in minutes.

4) A record of travel along a straight path is as follows:
a) start from rest with constant acceleration of 2.33 m/sq. second for 14.4 s ; b) Constant velocity for the next 0.92 minutes;
c) Constant negative acceleration of -9.76 m/sq. second for 5.59 seconds. (continued...)

1. sorry i don't really understand the question

2. 10.3 nm is 10.3 x 10^ -9 meters, and 10.3 x 10^ -3 micrometers. The sequence is, from metres to the smaller sizes, meter, millimeter, micrometer, nanometer, picometer. Each differ by 1000.

3. a) use speed = distance / time. So time is distance over speed, so answer is 140/45.1
b) use the same formula, and change the hours to minutes by multiplying with 60.

4. It's better to draw a v/t graph for this question. Start by finding the final velocity for part a, then draw a line from origin to that point. For part be, just draw a straight horizontal line until the correct time. For part c, again u have to find the final velocity. Note that it is still moving in the same direction even though acceleration is negative. It's just slowing down. To find teh total displacement, just find the area covered by the the graph and the x-axis...
