Alligators Up North-Migration Or Transport?

Do you think alligators are being transported or are they going the distance on their own?

The Alligator could never make it to Nebraska from the South, without human help. It sounds as though someone was transport it to a location, and he got loose, or was turned out for some ungodly reason. Hey! I look out everyday in front of my house and see gators, but I live in Florida and it's a common thing for us.
