There are lots of astrologists who make a living by selling their services to folks who believe in this. But there isnt any proof. It has been studied quite a few times by statisticians who were completely unable to make any kind of a connection between when people were born and what they wound up doing for a job, etc. For instance, you would sort of expect that if astrology was true, there would be say, more actors born at one particular time of year, or more soldiers, or more athletes, or more doctors, or whatever, But when groups of many thousands of people were studied, there was basically no difference. People from all days of the year were pretty much even in what they wound up doing.
So, astrology is fun to think about, but I dont believe it would be a good idea to plan your life based on the time or date of your birth

To know the answer w should , first , know what is Destiny and what is a thought. Thought is not outside of us Destiny is . In fact we do not know where it is and how it acts. For this unknown entity we have simply given a name , Destiny. That is all. If it was possible at all for us to initiate change in our destiny we could consider changing our thoughts accordingly . We can compulsorily think of something else and delve on that thought . If anything , the combined action of our mind , thought, body results in a certain action. Such an action takes us towards our intended goal. If we drift away from that intended goal and land up somewhere we tend to blame this on some thing . That something is Destiny .

I do not know whethewr planets are the cause of the predictions.
I am 48 years old now.In 1996 I met a astrologer in Kolkata who
predicted for me that your place was going to change from 1998
and moreover he loughed when he saw the horoscope of my
wife at the same time. See! He said ,we might have wrong cal-
culation, but there was no misatake in "HIS" calculation. It was the same time that which indicates change of place in my my wife's
horoscope too.Now it is 2006 and everything happenned in the same way that astrologer predicted. There was change of place
in 1998 and after that too happenned in the same manner what
he told.It can't be just coincidence. Now the question is how he predicted? By means of our horoscope-that means -something is there to justify the horoscope and the planets.

Believe if you want to.In any case,we human beings always think and believe what we want to.So why not astrology? It is a good source of hope in times of despair for many people. But don't go on living life in anticipation of what your planets have in store for you.Without your action, nothing will happen. So human effort comes first and foremost. Some people just believe in destiny and planets so they can just shift the blame of the lack of efforts on their part or the lack of results from their actions, onto the planets and destiny.

no the planets dont work, they dont affect our destiny if it did than all the assumptions taken till today by astronomers would be right for instance they all used pluto for calculation but now its not a planet so what now will they change the way they used to calculate
so dont worry and no need to trust predictions
take future as it comes to you

Any crap you predict for 100 people by combining history, geopolitical and social dynamics will turnout to be 50% true.Humanbeings are optimists and they need hope for survival. So,they will take only the positive effect and forget the rest. You can still be a successful astrologer. All b***s***.

astrology has an ancient past not only in india but ancient civilizations all over the world practised it. as such these predictions were based on observations made by the movement of the planetary bodies.it is an imperfect science and todays astrologers believe only in making money.so i dont think we as educated people should believe these predictions. but lets give our ancient civilizations and their theories credit too.

planets may have some influence in our lives according to their placements when we were born. but we should not let that govern our lives at all.
we should try to make the most of all the opportunities that come our way, good or bad. its a very defeatist attitude if we blame our stars for our misfortunes!
