Every year during the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.....one of the contests is NFL's fastest player. The winner of that category this year was DeAngelo Hall a CB from the Atlanta Falcons. It is reportedly said that he ran in between the 4.3 to 4.4 range in the 40-yard dash.

The player in the NFL with the FASTEST recorded 40 time is: Michael Bennett, Minnesota Vikings 40 Time: 4.13 seconds.

Dante Hall is best in open field though.
BTW Ricky Williams smokes too much dope to be the fastest and won't even play in the NFL anymore.

Former New England Patriot return man/reciever Bethel Johnson consistantly runs the 40 in 4.3 and is widely considered an under achiever because of his work ethic,but does have the ultra-blazing speed and physical tools to be a great returner.
