I tried to install ubuntu and while i was installing, the computer locked up. It had 1gb, not it olny has 5mb, thats nothing, how do i fix this.

go to diskkeeper.com, you can get a trial. download the full verion using a p2p software like ubuntu.by the way, where did u get, ubuntu? pleeees tell me!

A one gigabyte hard drive?

how old is your computer...im guessing 8-10 years

use another new hard disk with installed OS same as damaged hard disk. try use recovery software to recover the damaged one.

run an error check on the drive, and select repair bad sectors.
