Barney and friends.

Just kidding. A ha. A ha.

If you haven't the new The Hills Have Eyes I strongly reccomend it. The beginning and ending certainly is frightening, and there is tons of violence and gore in between.

V for Vendetta was pretty good. The Hills Have Eyes has lots of violence and action.

i can highly recomment Zatoichi. it's a Japanese film by Takeshi Kitano (of Takeshi's Castle) and is about a blind masseuse (played by Takeshi) who happens to be very handy with a sword, beautifully filmed, splendidly acted and both moving and funny, violent and gory. you could also try the Korean film Arahan or the Chinese film Kung Fu Hustle, both of them fantastic martial arts films!

Could also try the Russian fantasy film Night Watch, it is amazing, better than anything Hollywood has ever produced!

I'd say the Omen. It has a bad ending, but it's good for horror fans and it has some violence.

The Grudge (2004), I've only watched this once, over a year ago, but I still get flashbacks to scenes in it, that give the cold sweats .... like just then.
