I am currently a junior in high school and I am an Eagle Scout and have participated in sports such as football and track in high school. My class ranks were posted and someone told me I was 531 out of 680 students (this is awfull). I am trying my hardest to bring up my grades and I volunteer at the local library for hours (I also plan on joining clubs). Do I still have a chance of getting into Texas A&M Univ. or Univ. Of Texas-Austin or any other good school? Plz give me advice!

Yes you do. You have a very good chance of getting in. Please remember that your SAT and ACT scores GREATLY affect whether or not you will get in. The higher the score the more likely you are to get in. Usually there is some type of "admission index". It is a balance between your GPA and your Score. The lower your GPA the higher your score must be to get in. I encourage you to bring your grades up. However, I also encourage you to start preparing NOW to take the SAT and ACT exams.

Ask your school counsellor to advise you.
