Both As I've recently discovered, looks really aren't all that important. lol! However, i don't think i could ever like anyone i thought was repulsive. But, they don't have to be super hot either. Personality is more important. It's what will matter in the long run. Remember, looks can change. Personality changes with age, but no as much as looks. Personality is what will matter most in the end, but that personality better come in a clean body. Looks may initally attract you to a person, but the personality is what will keep you attracted. Chemicals, i.e. pheremones and hormones, have a lot to do with it too.

Now, there's a fundamental flaw in your question. Although you will generally get an either/or response, ultimately it would depend on the situation you are in when you first become attracted and what happens as a result.

Without seeming shallow, who is going to start chatting up someone that they do not find attractive? (do not mistake this with stunner, babe or a pair of **** on legs) Now, I know that their looks are what got your attention first but they may have absolutely nothing to offer beyond that (in which case you'll have to decide if you are going to pursue this person or make your excuses).

I also understand that over a period of time, say, working with someone whom you wouldn't necessarily CHOOSE for a partner, you could find their personality intriguing, you could miss their company while they're away on holiday and this would result in an attraction to their personality.

Now personally, I tend to see some attractiveness in a lot of women, even when my mates might consider her a minger. I would like to go with the latter as my answer and it is a very important trait in relationships, but I also need to have that physical attraction as well.

Although beauty is in the eye of the beholder and also skin deep, your personality will last through time while your looks will fade away (even with botox). But your personality can come through your looks and so your looks can certainly reflect your personality.
You can attract someone with your looks, if the personalities match, then over time, relationships (friendship, romance) will be sustained by your personality.

A good personality makes someone look beautiful. So personality is best to go by.

PERSONALITY!!! Looks can fade or change in a split second due to an accident. Personality is beauty of the soul. A pretty person on the outside can still be a jerk. As long as a person keeps their self clean, that is what counts in looks.

Well, both, but looks get the initial attention. If no looks, rely on personality, once having a person's attention. If no personality, you will end up with Medallion Man.
