Place the key over the sensor, move it downwards towards the Q, press down and slide up. That's how I got my 8 key back on.

Good luck.... I accidentally knocked the 'x' off my laptop keyboard over a year ago and have yet to find someone who can pop it back in.....
P.S. if u use the tip of your finger you should still be able to use exclamation mark, just need to touch the keyboard sensor to use it.
