Its easy to work out:
1, Weigh one piece of gravel.
2, Count out how many pieces of gravel you have in a cubic yard.
3, Multiply together.

About a ton depends on the gradation and moisture. I weighed a five gallon bucket of gravel they average about 80 lbs .hope this helps.

You have to know the specific gravity of the type of gravel your using....(weight of one cubic centimeter relative to water). Limestone has a different specific gravity than granite or basalt for instance. Think of specific gravity as density.
