It doesn't matter the age as much as the hair color and skin tone for color to wear. Your body type will dictate what styles look best on you just as with any age. Go to a nice department store and ask for help... or hire a consultant. I learned a lot from watching TV shows about fashion and making over the wardrobe and I am a bit younger than 60. Good luck!

DO NOT DRESS LIKE YOU ARE A TEENAGER!! bad bad bad! People will make fun of you! But don't dress like a grandma, either. Try a straighter low rise trouser, especially pinstripes, paired with a nice top or other sweater. Earthy tones or neutrals are great for older women, but it is okay to add a little color (just don't go overboard)! Embellishments are everything, so try pieces with some sparkle or beading. Accessorize with fun earrings and layer on some necklaces. My favorite store for older high fashion women is Chico's. It is very age-appropriate without being too old lady. There are lots of coordinating pieces with cute accessories, too! If this is too expensive, grab a Chico's catalog and go to a more inexpensive store and find the same styles for less. Good luck darling!

I know I am fabulous!

Well she barely made Baby Boomer status so you can get away with a lot since there are more of us in power these days and we look damned good. I still wear the basic little dress/shift, everything old is new again. Mid calf casual dresses in lightweight fabric look good. Baby Boomers don't look nor act like old people and we have the advantage of great skin products these days. Let's face it, if you're thin you can wear just about anything as long as you show a little taste.

Since I'm not able to find just the right little shift in the exact style I want, I ended up making a bunch of them on my sewing machine. Once I found the right pattern I whipped them out and they're a hit and I get compliments everywhere I go on my dresses. I'm 50-something years old (how did I get this old?)

Bottega Veneta, Ralph Lauren, Piazza Sempione, Sophia Kokosalaki, Pucci, and Burberry Prorsum have some great pieces for women in their sixties.

Bottega Venetta and Piazza Sempione have nice separates and outerwear.

Ralph Lauren for sweaters.

Sophia Kokosalaki for dresses.

Pucci's prints look so elegant on older women.

Burberry Prorsum for coats and accessories.

For older women, a mixture of neutrals and a little punch of color is usually great.

Goodbye to minis and tank tops. I see too many older women wearing these.

VERY minimal pink. A slinky pastel pink belt over a sweater would be fine.

VERY minimal cleavage.

Minimal makeup!

ok my mom was an interior decorator, and she told me that the classic colors for a business woman are thus: red, navy blue, black, white and off white. i have added beige to that mix. She told me that is the classic colors for which to wear and to appear classy, and refined. Mix and match them too. But if a 60 yr old wears purple, lime green, orange, or any other loud color ( fuschia comes to mind) then ppl will think she is crazy and not classy. that is just my opinion.

Gr8 spirit. because u r sixty you do not need to wear deadly colors! you can wear lighter versions of blue, green. You can put on a lot of comfort wear, like gipsy skirts. you can also choose maroon in some occasions.

Thanks

As long as she's not trying to keep up with the fads, any color is fine.

Just make sure it fits her perfect and is not vulgar.
My grandma is 68 and dresses "hip" for an older woman.
