Note: I realize cannibalism is illegal and am not saying anyone should break the law.

Think about it. In times past canibalism was no big thing. Warroirs ate the livers of their defeated enemies. In some African tribes, the younger members eat the brains of their elders. New Guinea tribesmen are said to practice it still. The Donner Party, the soccer team trapped in the Andes, etc. all had to resort to it. Even the prominent philosopher Dr. Anton LaVey engaged in a cannibal meal on at least 1 occasion that we know of (there were probably more).
Think of the benefits to society if it were legalized. The prisons could be emptied, we could end welfare reciepients by using them for the only thing they're worth. No one has every really exploerd the health benefits of such a diet. Remeber the story a few years ago when a German man ate another man because it was his wish to die that way? Even the court had to agree no murder was committed in that case.
When you look at it that way...

You're psychotic and a sociopath, and everyone who agreed with you (and was serious about it) is as well.

Please get some help. Call the 800 #.

On one hand, yes, why shouldn't it be legal? After all we aren't really any better than any other mammal on this world, just a lot more destructive. And its been proven that the human brain is incredibly nutritious. And Human bone marrow is also very good for you. So there would be health benefits of sorts.

Of course two issues come from this. One is most people balk at the idea, eating other people gives them the willy nillies. The second is how to you regulate such a thing. You can't just decide someones food because they aren't doing anything for society at the moment, what little system of order we have would break down completely. And you can't have people hunt other people either (though admittedly, people do that without the reward of eating their prey's flesh), again you have a complete breakdown of our societal systems.

Cannibalism is allowed in some cultures, usually ones considered inferior in some way to our own, whether or not that's the case. But those cultures are usually very different from ours and never on the same scale as the "western" and "eastern" worlds. I think that to try to legalize such a practice on such a scale is impossible without destroying the current society and the mores and ethics that we hold to, however right or wrong they may be.

OK here is the problem it has been found the cannibalism is a bad practice because if the person you are eating has lets say aids you will contract it furthermore there is a condition found in some tribes that still practice cannibalism that they get a disease that shuts down their central nervous system its the same thing as mad cow disease they found that the ranchers where mixing dead cattle in with the feed witch caused the condition see so cannibalism should stay illegal

Although cannibalism is practiced amongst some humans it is very rare to see it anywhere else in the animal kingdom, very few animals even when starving will resort to eating their own species. I think the risks involved with cannibalism far outweigh the benefits, besides most people in developed countries eat more than enough meat already

I would suppose that it should be legalized only if the person who is being eaten is dead already, and was alright with it. Sort of like the idea if you get into a car accident, you sign off your organs. However, eating people in prisons would not be an option, even though many deserve to die.

actually health benefits and risks have been researched using tribes that practice cannibalism and it has lots of risks including, dementia, seizures, and severe brain damage. Of course bear in mind these were people who dined on others on a regular basis. don't think it would happen after one meal, however, no i don't think it should be legal. I find it very gross, but that's just me.

Ew gross. That aside, you still have the problem of murder. I mean how can you eat someone unless you kill them first? So, you are suggesting that murder be legal too? If you only mean people who have died from whatever reason then I might be able to see your point. Think of all the acres and acres of land we'd have with out cemeteries.

I guess that explains the hat. Maybe "Eating Raoul" is your thing, but not me.

Cannibalism is inevitable, though: plants feed off the dead, animals feed off the plants, and the living feet off of animals and plants. It's only a matter of how many steps in between.
