Check the connection port where modem is connected. If it is connected through USB port then change it to another. Reinstall the modem driver software. check is the modem is in device list or not. I think this will fix your problem. If not consult with your service provider. Though all lights are ok but there still may be network problem.

Well if you know you need a updated version that may be one of the things you should go ahead and do. The best thing is to take care of the first problems which are the viruses and worms. Then make sure you have a good secure firewall or virus prevention program installed to your preferences to keep that from happening again. Especially before you start using your internet again. I wouldn't say that you have to format your computer, but you may have to do a few tweaks here and there. Troubleshoot your computer and make sure the anti virus program didn't change any settings. Its quite possible that it may have to protect your from getting more viruses from the interent.

go to start menu. click run. type in cmd. type in ipconfig/release this will clear your ip adress. then type in ipconfig/renew. then reboot your computer. if these thing still dont work purge your modem. by doing these. pull the connection on your modem for about 30 second. then plug it back in i hope this help.........

before going through all the uninstall and reinstall, first try unpluging the modem for a few seconds then plugging it back in
