I've already been to the website and all it says is "bank account". I really don't want to use my checking account because I'm afraid I will go on an Ebay binge one night and forget to write things down.lol

Yes you can - just use your banks routing number and your savings account #. That is what I did.

Yes, a savings account would be fine to use. If you are really concerned about overspending, you can actually send money to a PayPal savings account. You can then use money that is already there. Check into it.

I don't think as a savings account doesn't have a direct debit facility.
