Say you are lying to people and saying that you are being raped and you are pregnant. would your period be delayed because it might actually think that it's pregnant? or is it just cause of the stress of lying to so may people about something really serious? or is it both? friend wants to know..

It's a big possibility. I've heard of something similar. A woman that really wants to have a baby & thinks she may be or wants to be pregnant may make her body have all the symptoms of being pregnant. They can not have their period, be throwing up, etc but not really be pregnant. Stress is also a big possibility. I used to be very depressed & stressed out a lot & my period would delay the most when it was the worst for me. Also, I'm noticing how everyone that has answered is fussing about how doing such a thing is so horrible & bad & blah blah. You didn't ask for opinons on that, so geez, I'm sorry people have to be like that! Good luck finding the answer you're looking for!

Why would a person lie about something as awful as that? That is really a horrible thing to do. I think that if a person needs attention that badly that they should maybe think about getting some sort of counselling.
I hope your "friend" will get some help.
I would also hope that you would encourage your "friend" to rethink what she is doing and get her some help.
Is this the same "Friend" that you asked a question about 5 months ago and stated that she was raped, wanted to have an abortion, but didn't and ended up having a miscarriage?

Well there isn't enough information about her having sex or anything so most likely it's stress from her lying...if she hasn't has so much sex...personally go get a pregnancy test and see if she really is pregnant and if it's true DON'T STRESS ABOUT IT! If it's not true and you're lying then good luck on trying to get your friends back for such a huge lie.

Why the hell would you make up something like that?! That is a horrible thing to tell people, especially when there really are people going through those things every single day! If her period is seriously delayed, tell her to ask her doctor... it could be stress, but it could be other things.

Your friend sounds very twisted, but yes. There is something called an hysterical pregnancy where the body acts as if pregnant when it's not.

Seriously if your "friend" is making something like that up someone needs to beat the hell out of her - stuff like that REALLY happens to people out there and then this stupid person goes around pretending to be raped and pregnant - SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
