First you need to have a file on your computer of pictures you want on your ipod. Then, when you have your ipod plugged in and you're in iTunes, right click on your ipod. You should have a bunch of options there, and one will lead you to where you select the file where your pictures are and you can upload them.

1.
Connect your iPod to your computer using the cable that came with your iPod.

2.
In iTunes, choose iTunes > Preferences, and click the iPod button.

3.
Click the Photos button.

4.
To transfer photos to your iPod, select the "Synchronize photos from" checkbox and choose the iPhoto album or a folder that contains the photos you want to transfer from the pop-up menu.

5.
Choose whether you want to transfer all your photo albums (or folders), or only selected photo albums or folders.

6.
To copy the full-resolution versions of these photos to your iPod, select the "Include full-resolution photos" checkbox.

iTunes copies the full-resolution versions of the photos to the Photos folder on your iPod. You can later transfer these full-resolution photos to another computer by selecting "Enable disk use" in the Music pane (in the iPod pane of iTunes Preferences). For more information, click "Tell me more."

7.
Click OK.

The selected items are transferred to your iPod.

It may take a while to transfer all your photos the first time you perform a sync. Subsequent syncs should take less time.
