i am doing a research paper on homeowner association. I am trying to find information on statutes,invasion of privacy; why it is not defamation and the effects of false information

The appellate court upholds the trials court's granting of a special motion to strike the complaint. Held: The anti-SLAPP statutes applies to allegedly defamatory statements made at meetings of a homeowners association and in the association's newsletter because both forums were open to the public and the defendants' statements "concerned the manner in which a large residential community would be governed."

Why is what not defamation? What "false information" are you referring to? What is the "Invasion of privacy" you refer to?

In general, when you buy a home in a subdivision, you agree to be bound by the community bylaws of that particular neighborhood.Depending on the given setup , this can be a binding legal contract between the homeowner and the homeowners association.
