the president who should be embarassed that it happened during his watch and that we have lost more Americans trying to get revenge for it that died during it, mentions it every 3 seconds
the media hypes it up for ratings
there have been a dozen worse world events since, still these people won't get off of it, its turned into an excuse and justification for anything
enough already, I won't watch anymore and I won't listen

I agree. Its a tragedy that has been turned into a political item for Bush to hide behind just like he has been since it happened. He hasn't done squat to ferret out the true terrorists other than capture a few al Qaeda underlings. You don't hear them going on about December 7, 1941 do you and it was just as tragic? Of course not. It's not politically relevant for Bush and he can't use it. Bush is using the memory of those who died for his own political gains and purposes and should be ashamed. But, he has no shame since he's the epitome of a fool. 9/11 should be remembered, yes - but its become a media and political event.

I only had one friend (acquaintance) when it happened who died in the Twin Towers. Which is kinda strange when you realize that we're from South Park (middle of the USA). Reality is I talked with people in that building daily at work ... so I probably knew more that the one who I hold in my prayers on 9-11.
For some people it's theroputic to talk about the loss of loved ones. Other's find it disturbing. Since you are hurt by the rest of us healing our wounds with sharing our grief, I hope that you too can find comfort.
As for the additional information you are writing about, I'm sure that the unsettled grief you're feeling is clouding how you put information together. There really is so much more to understand before making assumptions like that. God bless, and Jesus saves.

we all realize it was a horrible episode and we all have our feelings about it happening. I saw this happening on television as it occured.Today I can no longer handle seeing this horrible act being re-broadcast. The news media has had a field day showing this constantly and I find I have to turn it off. i sometimes wonder how this is effecting those who lost loved ones and friends.
They must be having some difficult times seeing this braodcast all the time.
While we all need to realize this can happen again and again, it is time to put the tv coverage to rest and let those who have had to suffer from the great loss have some peace. It seems like lately the media is overdoing all news events and it is getting downright sickening.

In a certain way, yes. Just like anything else that is drilled into us countless times.. I understand the need to be vigilant about terrorist and to be aware that this could happen again. But the endless droning about it (I believe) can make you numb, or desensitize you to it, after a while it just becomes background noise.
Just this past week in Cleveland there was news about a police officer who was gunned down in the line of duty, in the beginning I was sad for him and his family, and hoped there would be justice, but by the end of the week, I was so sick of hearing about it several times a day, I was glad when he finally had his funeral and was laid to rest.
I was even beginning to resent the poor guy because of the way the media went on and on about it.
I feel it is the same with 9/11. Yes, I felt so bad for those who lost their lives, I wanted justice done to those who committed those acts, yet after weeks of hearing it, I was tired of the endless droning. As far as the "war on terror" it seems to have faded, I can't remember the last time I saw a headline or heard a news report about it, unless it is to report a tragedy, like a chopper going down and soldiers dying.

I don't think it is that people are tired of hearing about it - it's just that people are tired of the media milking a tragic event in order to make a profit. I cannot help but think of the pain it must cause the survivors and people who lost loved ones to know that once a year they will be subjected to reliving the most tragic day of their lives. We say that time heals - but yet we don't allow these people to heal every time we reopen the wound in order to sell movie tickets and increase readership and TV ratings.

Ya, pretty much cause after all of these 5 years gone by, our troops and all our time and effort is in the wrong country. The responsible people for the loss of so many lives is in a neighboring country and all we are doing is babysitting them so they don't do an attack again......Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11, and we've been there how long? See my point.....so, yes...I'm getting tired of hearing about 9/11 when in all reality, this country is not doing much to get them back for what happened that day.

you are a complete a**hole there are a total of 132,000 American Soldiers over there fighting so that you can still have your god given freedoms that were given to our forefathers and passed on to us. As an American Soldier you sicken me. Your fellow citizens died innocently that day and so many more firefighters and police trying to save those caught in the destruction. A total of 2665 of my fellow soldiers have died over there and about 48,000 have been wounded, and 11,754 soldiers have been hospitalized from the war on terrorism, and 9,651 were from Iraq and the rest from Afghanistan. So sorry if you have a problem with hearing about 9/11 but the soldiers that are defending your country that you live in are not and will continue to until our job is finished and if you want look at http://icasualties.org/oif/Civ.aspx and see the specifics of the casualties that we have obtained so that those from 9/11 pay for what they did.

Not sick of it exactly just tired. We can not allow ourselves to forget, because when we forget, we relax, and when we relax, it makes it more likely to happen again. So, NO! Let it be a constant reminder untill terrorism is gone.
