Well first off, most men are taught all there life not to show there emotions, that doing so only makes them week and less of a man. It is ingrained in our heads and can be reversed but it takes alot. The second part is do you really want that. One of the things women want most in a relationship is to feel safe and secure. If your man (boyfrined, husband, whatever) changed his way and became a "emotional" man that releced his feelings would you accept it. Imagin him crying histeracly because of a sad movie, or because his pet died. Would your really have the same view of him as a strong individual. What I think women want is for men to show just enought emotion that they can feel connected but not so much that it will make a man look week. There are some men that can do that, but the majority of us, is all or nothing. You eather get the strong, secure, silent type, or you get the over reacting, over emotional protrayed as a weekling guy.

For about 90% of men it is a guy thing, the same reason they won't cry at a sad movie,l men just don't do that, Bull s*hit, I played profesional sports and have seen a lot of bad a*ss men cry over winning and losing, but sosme people will go to the grave thinking they have brass balls, when all they really have is a un fulfilled exisance!

I think honestguy is spot on, I'd like a man to trust me enough not to bottle all the time, because that's not good for anyone, but he's right, if our guys went ott on it, would we feel safe and protected or like mummy ? Some emotion is great, romance is wonderful, opening up to your woman will help your relationship, but there is a fine line, between doing that and becoming too female in your emotions. After all, let's face it, we're sooo moody.

Hi.
I don't mind talking about my feelings.
I cried at the end of the film 'Out of Africa'.
I cried when my parents died.
I cried when I split up with a girl as we stood (ironically) on a carpet of Confetti outside a Chuch after someones' wedding.
I get angry at pictures of dancing bears and abused dogs.
Beggars who ask for money for a cup of tea when I know they want alcohol or drugs makes me think evil thoughts.
I love watching September sunrises. They make me smile, warmly.
Thunderstorms send different emotions spinning through me like the wheels of a slot machine.
Purring cats relax me.
Will that do?

Because SOME men were brought up and told if they do that its a sign of weakness just like crying, some men arent and open like a blooming flower which is good.

I was always taught that men don't cry what a load of rubbish i cried when England got knocked out of the world cup...No i didn't really I'm used to it but men are taught to hide their emotions but as you know we all need to let things out instead of bottling things up.

because men always think they have an image to keep they can never let there feelings come out they are scared of getting laughed at or that the woman will find out that they just have a heart and its not good if mates find out

because we are men. we are supposed to be strong and we dont allow anyone to hurt us. but the truth is, its all a cover up. we do get hurt but we dont like to show it. thats a big problem. we are supposed to be macho and un-breakable. but again i say we should talk about our feelings but the stereotype we have created for ourselves and so has society, this in turn stops us from talking or showing our feelings. dont get upset if your man keeps quiet about his feelings. its natural for him to stay quiet about them . you just have to work his feelings out by guessing from his body language. hope i have been a help to you. good luck in figuring the male species....

I guess that is just not their make-up. Women are more emotional and conversational, while men tend to be more of thinkers and not very talkative.

Because if he did, a woman would completely turn everything on its head and accuse him of being a cheat, liar and a drunken zot.
Then she wouldn't speak to him for a couple of weeks (three weeks if he is lucky)
