1 ton of softwood (e.g spruce) would be 1.415 cubic metre in volume...( on assumption that 1 cubic metre is 423 board foot of softwood and 1 ton of softwood is 600 board foot of timber) ........
... oh and by the way ... 1 board foot = a timber pc of 12"x1" by 1ft long.
