“Falling in love” is essentially an insane state. Since intimate relationships are scary, and since they take a lot of work to get started, we might never find our way into them without help. So nature assists by genetically programming us to fall in love as a way to hook us into a permanent relationship. Our reasoning about our lover is short circuited with blatant idealizations. Remember that falling in love is a vehicle to get our emotional needs met. It’s a means to fill in the incomplete parts of ourselves. Chances are, no matter what you do, the intense emotions will not pass quickly. However, there are some things you can do that will expedite the process. First of all, you can start working on developing those unrealized parts of yourself. If you can develop the puzzle piece and put it into place, your unconscious mind won’t need to go out fishing for it in your lover. Falling in love drives us toward potential sexual partners. Our sexual drive is an essential piece of what makes this go. So falling in love is, in part, a way to get sex. Well, if you don’t like the way you’re being driven to get sex by your unconscious, you might try getting some with your conscious. Again, by proactively meeting your own needs, you reduce the drive toward falling you into love that your unconscious has. Working on your undeveloped self, exposing yourself to many others, and meeting your sexual needs by chosen relationships can all help to extricate you from the clutches of your unconscious that has fallen you into love with someone who leaves your feeling deprived and hurt.

When you first begin dating someone who you really like the chemical serotonin will rise. This will make you smile more or produce the emotions that come with puppy love.
However when you become used to that person the level of serotonin does eventually go back to normal. I am not saying you will fall out of love with this person, but what we know as the "SPARK" might die down a little bit.

You may have something there...sometimes these things can be a factor, simply because they create mood, emotions, but having said that, people can be in love with one person all their lives, because they have reached a deeper level of love that is rock solid.

i think that initiially love is exactly that a trick. Your mind release endorphins because you are feeling so wonderful becuae of whatever. and after that youo crave that high and go after it. But ii think that you can be with onne person forever once you feel comfortable with how your mind is when you are with them
