You should NOT take castor oil to help induce your labor as it will cause the baby to have a bowel movement before he/she is born which causes major health complications for the baby. Your doctor will decide when/if to induce your labor.

A lot of people say that using Castor oil to induce labor is not good, ask your doctor about the side effects before trying.

babies come when they are ready...you shouldnt be trying castor oil. walking and sex are the safest way to speed things up.

I know exactly what youre going through, im about 37.5 weeks and I am miserable, but understand the fact that babies come when they want and no pregnancy ever went on forever. If your babies not coming, theres likely a reason. They produce the hormone to start your labor once their lungs and everything is mature. Be patient....your baby will be here soon enough. Learning patience now would be good, you'll need it once the babies here. I know you are probably miserable, but when the babies here, sometimes you'll want him back in your belly so you can sleep!

Make up your mind.
You've said you're due 9/21 and 9/27. You've said you're 38 weeks and you've said you're due in 1 week. Now you're saying that you're "well overdue." Which one is it?????

A normal pregnancy is anywhere from 38 to 42 weeks. RELAX. All babies do come out. Trust your body and your baby to know when it is time. Labor will be much easier if you don't try to force it. All you're doing is frustrating yourself. RELAX. Get a massage to balance your body. You'll physically feel better and labor will be easier.

DO NOT use castor oil. It will make you miserable and make you run to the bathroom. There is no guarantee it will start labor. You could just spend a miserable day on the toilet for nothing. AND it could make your baby have his first bowel movement in the womb, which can be dangerous if they aspirate it.

As for nipple stimulation, it takes at least 20 minutes for it to do anything. It may or may not work.

Sex would probably be safer and more likely to do something for you. Semen can help to ripen the cervix and orgasm can bring on contractions that might turn into labor.

What does your caregiver say about you trying to induce your own labor? Has he made any suggestions to you? Are you starting to dilate and efface yet?

Caster Oil really does not make you go into labor. It makes you have sever cramping and have to go to the bathroom and the sever cramping may trigger contractions but the chances of that happening are slim to none. And like someone else said it will causes your baby to have bowl movements inside of you and that can cause infection in both of you. When your child is ready to be born they will. I would not mess with nature. If your Dr thought that you had to have the baby now then I am sure that you would be induced.

My advice to you would be to relax and stop worrying about when your baby will come. I was very anxious with my last child and my Dr told me to go home take a nice warm bath and relax. I did and I had my baby the next day.

you shouldn't use it. My friend used it and all it did was make her stay on the toilet if you know what I mean. If you are ready to have the baby then talk with your doctor about inducing you. GOOD LUCK
