Just save the picture to your desktop, (for easy finding later) and go to the start button on the lower left bottom of your screen and click on accessories, and then "Paint" the click "Open" and save the pic again and it will be in JPEG format.

The fastest way is to open the file in Paint (which is a program that comes with WinXP). Just click All Programs> Accessories > Paint

Then click File, Save As and under type of file, choose jpeg/jpg

Get a free program like GIMP for windows, or a commercial program like Paint Shop Pro. In any of thm, simply open the BMP then do a save as and choose the format you want it saved in in the line under the filename in the save window.

Do you have a scanner? With mine, I scan the picture, when it goes to the scanner's desktop, I right-click on the picture and select "export as." For file type I select jpg.

Do you have any photo editing program? If you bring up the picture, do you get an option to cl File, Save AS?
