This is a faulty question, because it doesn't say how Jack's steps equal Daug's 7 steps & Ann's 8 steps. Are they equal in time or distance?

For the example below, I used distance.

If we only look at who traveled the furthest in steps, then Ann and Jack tied.

Let's just choose a distance for calculation.

Let's say:
Jack can travel 3 yards in 6 steps = 1/2 yard per step
Daug can travel 3 yards in 7 steps = 3/7 yard per step
Ann can travel 3 yards in 8 steps = 3/8 yard per step

So:
Jack traveled 21 steps for 1/2 per step

21 X (1/2) = 10 1/2 yards = 10.5 yards

Daug traveled 24 steps for 3/7 yard per step

24 X (3/7) = 10 2/7 yards = 10.29 yards (rounded)

Ann traveled 28 steps for 3/8 yard per step

28 X 3/8 = 10 1/2 yards = 10.5 yards

So, Ann and Jack traveled the further than Daug, but they tied.

he takes 3 steps for Daugs 3.5 steps and Anns 4 steps... 7 times 3 gets to 21 which can be used as a comparison... 3.5 times 7 =24.5 which means it took daug less time thanhim... 4 times 7 equals 28 which means that ann took the same time to finish as jack. Making daug the winner...i guess
