God is the source of all material and spiritual manifestations. Everything we have experienced, have yet to experience and will never experience has its origin in Him. He is the One living being who is maintaining all other living beings. The supreme eternal among all other eternal living beings. We are eternal also, but He is the supreme and we are His servants. He is the whole, we are a small part of the whole. He is the supreme consciousness -- omniscient-- and we are also conscious, but are consciousness is limited. Technically, God means the supreme controller and this is an appropriate title, not a name, for the supreme because we are in the material world now and our main experience of the Lord is His controlling or chastising feature.

But, there is another feature of the Lord that most do not know about in this world. That feature displays His pastimes of love and play with His pure devotees. The Lord comes down to the material plane to display those pastimes from time to time, but most of us are unaware of them. The Lord has innumerable names according to His qualities and pastimes with His devotees. Chanting and hearing the holy names of the Lord is the prime method for reviving our dormant God consciousness in this age. The Lord's names are just as spiritually potent as direct association with the Lord Himself. So if a sincere person hears and chants the holy names of the Lord, he can make rapid spiritual advancement and soon come to understand his spiritual nature and his relationship of loving service (our constitutional position) to the Lord.

God is the name for what drives humanity. Not a person or a thing, but an idea. Its something to believe in. I think that its what is inside all of us. No supernatural force, just what drives all humans, our will and our emotions. I do not think of God as a creator or a master, just us. What we have been for centuries. Early in human evolution it has been proven that they did not have the mental capacity to believe in any sort of "God" but they did survive because of their will.

in my language 'god' is called 'zot' and this word is related with astrological symbols. symbol 'z' it means all the kind of planets that are in their cycle formation as a body, 'o' it means the planets that have finished their creation as a full body and 't' are the planets that have started their degradation... in a few words, the whole universe! and the life itself!
