Getting married is different for all!! Men & women I have known and read about both believe in and don't believe in marriage. Mostly because of their feelings & their defention of the word 'love'. Some have experinced love the way it should be and in the process want to get married down the line for all the right reasons. This leads to a hearty marriage and happiness until the day they leave this world.

Then there are the rest. The other 50%. That number is correct too. I am sure others have read the stories, seen it talked about on TV & have seen the statistics on TV. The divorce rate in america is at 50%. It is even higher for couples that are in the miltary, being one or both of them. These same stats also show that alot of these people married for the wrong reasons, money, few of having a child born out of wedlock, to be come a US citizen, the sex is spectacular or just because they are pressursed by love ones & think this is the right thing to do.

Marriage I bleieve should be done because two people are in love, they know that in their heart that their love can stand the test of time, they want to provide for each other and they will always stay true to each other and the family they wil have in the future. It should at least be the main reason. If someone wants to ALSO do it for other reasons that's fine, but don't follow through with it just because you have a shotgun to your back. If you do it of the right reasons then for the most part everything should be fine for the rest of your days together. If not then all you will be doing to yourself is leaving your heart open for pain and suffering in a union that was not meant to be...

Some men believe that by being the provider is enough contribution to the family. They don't understand all the hard work that goes into making a family function. Truth is they are too lazy and cowardly to put themselves into the mothers shoes.

He thought by working hard he was doing best by his family.
He wasn't SEEING the damage he was causing, and when he did, he realized he had to change.
Nobody on their deathbed ever says, wow I wish I'd have spent more time at work.
Family is the most important thing in your world, and if it's not, it should be, they are the people who will be there when you need them, who will catch you when you fall, and will pick you up when you're down.
Men, real men, realize the measure of success isn't how much money you make, it's how you measure up as a father, and how your children view you. Success isn't measured in dollar signs, it's measured in the love and respect of your family.

I saw that.. and I couldn't believe it either. I don't know how his wife could stand it for so long.
He was so insensitive about it all, too. I understand the man has to work and make money, but to tell your wife "I know and I don't care".. Unreal.
I feel sorry for his kids. They are the ones missing out.

Didn't you see the end where he turned himself around? He thought that making money showed that he loved his family but by the end of the show he had stopped using his cell phone at home.

if you watched the entire show you'd have seen that the dad came around and started spending time with his family. Whether or not he keeps it up will eventually become his problem when the wife packs up and moves out!!
