Yes it's because Robbie's sampled an 80's track on Rudebox...Boops by Sly & Robbie

Thats because the backing track is sampled from an old funk tune from about 20 years ago, Mr Williams has a sense of humour love, its not supposed to be a serious record.

It's a terrible song by a terrible burden to the music industry, but yes he did sample it from an old track,It's not funk though, funk is a different matter all together.

Robbie's a child of the 80s and 90s, hence the influence (and there are songs on his album called 'The 80s' and 'The 90s' too).
