Why don't you give them something that maynot be on the list, but they will appreciate once they realize how useful it is or how it helped them to become a better person?
Some suggestions are -
1. A not too expensive camera - they may be budding photographers
2. A beginners' aritst kit (with acrylic paint, brushes, palette and canvas )
3. A kiddie telescope/ microscope - learn the wonders of science
4. A watch - to learn that time is precious.
5. A small pet - maybe a fish or a critter
There are many more which some of the readers here may expand............
Whatever you buy, I hope you have a happy shopping experience!

I saw a Robot in the papers last week that is supposed to be this Christmas's biggest seller for kids and teenagers, they had like a dinosaur version out either last year or the year before.

Perhaps a one way ticket to Outer Mongolia would make a very peaceful Christmas

Nobody will actually no until closer to christmas. That's when most of the kids will be all "WHOA MOM I NEED THAT!" And point to a certain item.

Dont worry, T.V Will tell them. T.V tells them everything they need to know.
If you want a normal kid, break the t.v, get em a dog and forget the useless toys.
