well i'm doing alot of web design lately, and I usually try to cut corners with hosting. I always go cheap. The cheapest I've seen is $4.95/mo that uses about anything ie. cgi, php, jsp, mysql, etc. with free domain name and free set up. I like this part, cause I like to know what I pay ahead of time. I've used these guys a bunch, and I would only say good things about them.
