Talking about those Conservative Religions. How does hypocrisy stand on LGBT?

When will people realize that we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God?
When will people realize that Jesus Christ came to seek and to save sinners?
What does it matter, really, what other people think about your personal sins? Ultimately, they are between you and God.
If you truly love God, you will be striving to keep His commandments. You know what they are, you are literate, you can read. You don't need anyone to tell you what God has to say about homosexuality.
If you truly love God, you will not be trying to stride up into His mansion, swagger into His living room, put your feet up on His golden coffee table, and say "This is the way I am, and You just have to accept me this way."
If you truly love God, you will be humble enough to accept His correction.
If you do not truly love Him, what do you care whether gays are really welcome in church?
Isn't the real question whether or not you will be welcome in Heaven??

While I am Catholic and certainly no expert on Protestant religions, I believe the answer to your question is a qualified yes. The qualification being that you can't be an "active" homosexual. And must be committed to remaining celibate unless with a member of the opposite sex. At least this is my understanding to be the position of the Catholic Church and logically applicable to other religions as well.

I will be interested to see the response of others. So, I'll keep checking back.

Your question should really be "Are Gays and Lesbians really welcomed by God?" The answer is yes. We sing the song "Just As I Am", which is the way Christ accepts us. But He loves us too much to leave us that way. If Gays and Lesbians are really interested in a walk with Christ, they must be ready for a change in their life. Don't go to church expecting a rubber stamp endorsement of your lifestyle. Everyone who comes to Christ has to turn from their old life and nature. For some it is alcohol, for some it is adultery, or gambling, or any host of other things. We can't approach God on our own terms. He is the one who gets to call the shots. The story of the rich young ruler in Matthew 19 is a good example. He lived a good life, he tried to please God, but his wealth was more important to him than his walk with Christ. We MUST be willing to give up anything and everything that can come between us and God. The rich young ruler couldn't do it. I hope you can.

In my experience it depends on the church and the people in the church. A very old church that is mostly populated by older generations will scorn you for your lifestyle and talk behind your back. In churches with a newer and younger crowd that are more into evangelism and discipleship I'd say you'd be more welcome though generally it will be something that identifies you in the crowd.

So are they really welcome, yes they are welcome, but are they accepted and treated as equally as heterosexuals, this would generally be no.

I do not currently believe in God, but I used to be very much into discipleship. What I think many christians forget is that we are not here to judge, but here to love and support eachother in our journey through life and our path in following God. God is our judge.

I think that is a really silly question, of course they are welcome. The congregation may hypocritical of you, but the good Lord above will not be. You are who you are, and if you feel you need to go to church, find one and go. In our area, we have several congregations who accept anyone and does not discriminate on who you are, the true way it should be.

They are welcome, but it is the goal of the church to help these people to change their ways, and realize the truth and love of Jesus. Jesus loves all people, but hates their sins. Unfortunately, many "Christians" hate the people. Good true churches will help any lost soul and encourage them to live a true Christian lifestyle.
