Yes God loves everyone, and doesn't desire anyone to persih. But that is an excuse made up by people so they can continue sin.
The issue of gays in the Church. Depends on if these are practicing gays, or gays that have seen their lifestyle as sin agaisnt God/repented/accepted Christ/and given that up....There are going to be liars...hypocrites...in Church no doubt..Thats why Christians GO to Church...to learn how not to act like that...to learn how to become more and more Christ-like...you dont get zapped with a lightening bolt once you become a Christian/ and suddenly slap on a plastic smile/and get a certificate from charm school...two kinds of sinners in this world...saved sinners....and UNsaved sinners...I am a Christian...I am no better than anyone else...except that I am saved by the grace of God/ not by what I do and say..

According to my old church, yes. Also according to me old church, no.
They preach the 'love the person, hate the sin' thing. But I was told, in no uncertain terms whilst wearing my gay pride button, what the deacon's son would do if he ever saw a 'f.*****' walking around. It involved duct taping said '*******' to a chair and beating the everliving sh.it out of him with a baseball bat.

I think conservative churches try to get the person to stop acting on their gayness. They really try to get them to go back in the closet. That's what I've seen.

They are always welcome, but only because the church people have an agenda to change them. It is difficult to find a non-judgemental church, but a few are out there.
