I used to have the same problem, dear.
Very painful cramps since I my first period, when I was 11 and really significant blood loss, so that I suffered from anaemia.
Now I'm on the pill and things are much more better.
The only thing I can suggest you is to go to your doctor, maybe have a gynaecological exam and ask if the pill would be suitable for you. Good luck!

Bad menstrual pain is often associated with heavy 'clotting' during a period (this would fit with the particularly heavy period you're having). Aspirin may work better than parceamol (if you can take it of course), hot water bottle over the lower abdomen & believe it or not, exercise - it helps the blood to flow better, try going for a brisk walk. Sounds cruel I know, but as an ex-dancer I can tell you it does work.

I am 24 and I have the same problem. What you can do it take a heating pad and place it on the area cramping. The heat will help relax your muscle which should decrease your pain. Also talk to your Dr. about birth control it helps regulate and helps with some pain. Is there anyone in your family with Endometriosis? This is where the lining of your uterus can travel else where in your body and can cause very painful cramps. I have to take oxycodone to control my pain for endometriosis. Check with your Dr. and try the heating pad it should help. It saves me form having to take those pain killers.

hotwater bottle is great, i use ibrufen or nurofen. taking supplements the week before does also help. i als have a cream which i brought from rsa ,which is used for cramping and other ailments which helps. maybe see if there is a crampping cream locally that you canuse. go to a health shop ,if you don't want to take the usual painkillers, i am sure they will have something natural to use. It took me a while to learn what works best for me,so if one doesn't work ,try another. good luck.

I sympathise with you. Try holding a hot water bottle (wrapped in a towel) on your tummy, and go to bed for a while, have you thought about going on the pill? That usually relieves period pain, it might be an idea to have a chat with your doctor, hope you feel better soon.

Try some peppermint cordial. I use it to ease my pain. Also it is a good idea to take evening primrose oil everyday that should help for future periods. If this does not help then the pill is something you can try. I am on the pill to help with my monthly pains NOT for contraception needs. If peppermint cordial or evening primrose don't help speak to doctor about going on the pill for your pains.

Try to lower your salt intake about a week before you are due on. Salt encourages the body to store more water which gives you more of that bloated uncomfortable feeling. If you are looking for a drug to help then the strongest over the counter i have found is PARAMOL. You will find it in the chemist alongside Ibuprofen etc and it is in a black box.

Try eating bananas, every day. I used to get terrible cramp (not stomach) and a friend suggested bananas. I eat one everyday and have never had a cramp since.

Birth control pills help regulate and eliminate cramps. Toradol is good but you need a prescription for that.
