I finally have my 350 engine installed and am now getting ready to bolt up tranny. But my question is how do I know what type of driveline is supposed to be used for my car. I have 3 different drivelines that differ in not only length but also in diameter. My transmission is a turbo 350. I have no idea what driveline to use.

if you have any power in the motor you want to use the medium or big diameter not the small one because you can twist it off very easy after you get the tranny in measure for length if they came from a camaro you should be ok all of the camaros were close to the same wheel base car just make sure you dont have alot of play in it and use the heavy duty u joints so they dont twist great choice of car i have many of my hotrods and camaros on my 360 page take a look see what you think

You should be able to check the yoke on the driveshaft to make sure it will insert in the end of the tranny, if it looks like its a good fit you can then measure from tranny to rear end to make sure it fits on the length, if you don't have correct length you can take it to a driveshaft shop and they can cut it and balance it, they add weights to get the balance right so you don't get bad vibrations, also you can check specs at GM to see what diameter was used with this vehicle, which could vary I think since your not useing stock trans.

After installing the transmission, insert the yoke of the larger diameter shaft all the way till it stops. You should have not more than 1 inch of play between the U joints, and the rear end yoke.
