Was it about the fact that Rafa Benetiz didn't make one good tactical decision? Was it that Fabio Aurelio and Luis Garcia weren't worth the paper their names were written on? Was it that LFC just didn't have any sort of edge? The fact that Graham Poll is so unskilled that he shouldn't even be working in the Premiership anymore? Or, of course nonwithstanding, that Everton were just better? Decent comments, please.

First of all Johnson should get a call for England start-up. Liverpool weren't lively and lacked sharpness up front.Maybe it had many more players who had been on international duty. I believe Bellamy should have got a chance , he's a predatory striker just like Johnson. Everton were in lively form and it was always gonna be tough, Rafa could have done a few things, but yes, he failed too.

The great buy of Andy Johnson and the defensive lapses of Liverpool especially Jamie Carragher allowed Everton to win 3-0.

Striker Andrew Johnson scored twice as Everton handed local rivals Liverpool a 3-0 Merseyside derby mauling at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Australia midfielder Tim Cahill struck from close range after 24 minutes and Johnson fired home a second 11 minutes later after a defensive blunder from Jamie Carragher.

Liverpool, who left Wales forward Craig Bellamy out of the squad, twice struck the post through captain Steven Gerrard before Johnson completed the rout with a comical third in stoppage time.

Keeper Jose Reina palmed Lee Carsley's shot up in the air, then backtracking caught the ball under the crossbar. With his momentum about to carry him over the line, Reina released the ball, allowing Johnson to head home.

im a liverpool fan (just got back from the match) carragher shouldnt have been playing as he's still not sharp from being out with injury and gerrard shouldnt have been on the right, he should have been in midfield where he's more dangerous.
everton were just the better team on the day and rafa made some bad choices.
top of the league now eh! well done to the blues

The new players need time to adapt to British game. Wait till the other half of the season then we can start gauging their performance. At the moment let the British players shine.

Johnson for England... out the Crouch.

i didnt watch the game, i dont even know the goal scorer, but i guess its because of the supporters (LFC would've won in anfield), international games effect (Crouch scored 3 goals in 2 matches, gerrard 1 in 2, n Luis Garcia 1 in 1), and Andy Johnson!! Spurs must buy him!!

Everton played better seems the most logical answer. Everyone seems to try and blame the officials, or the manager for playing the wrong people, but it always boils down to just one thing, the team that won played the better football.
