boil it, then condense the water. If there is salt the salt will be left in the glass and the water will turn to vaper

You can do that by first boiling it and when its finished boiling then all that there will be left is the salt, if it really does have salt or you can also try to put an ice in it to see if it makes a weird appearence when the ice is in the glass with water and salt.

Pour a small 4 oz. glass of water, let it sit overnight, then check it in the morning. If there is any salt, it should gather around the edge of the glass and some of the water will evaporate.

Measure its density using a hydrometer. If there is salt in it it will be higher than 1.

If you need to be sure it is salt and not some other solute, dip a clean metal point into it and then put the point in a bunsen burner flame - salt will make the flame turn orange.

i think this is the simplest method.

take an egg if it floats then salt is present otherwise it is pure.

let it evaporate of heat it and if theres chalky white residue then theres salt in there. or you could make your dog taste it.
