Well, I can certainly understand where you're coming from. Growing up, I lived near Six Flags New England (formerly Riverside Park) and despite it being a decent park, we got park fatigue having gone there time after time, year after year.

Having now been to well over 100 parks, I can say that I really do enjoy SDC. It's one of those noncommercial traditional parks with really fun shows and a good spirit throughout the park. It's not as crazy as many of the Six Flags parks and it's not as small as several of the smaller traditional parks.

Not only does it have good food, but it also has some great coasters as well. And once you're done there, you just pop across the road to Celebration City and ride a few more coasters.

Who could beat that! :-)

I agree. We live only 80 miles from Branson and went so much that now we don't bother to go. I really get tired of outlet shopping so much walking. But I read they are building a new shopping center with some really nice stores, not outlet and I look forward to go when that is complete. I don't really like country music but usually we go to the comedy performances. And yes its very expensive. :o) I realize now you said Silver Dollar City, yes its too expensive and after you have gone a few times its boring and walking up and down the hills...exhausting. :)

I not only grew up going to SDC but I used to work there in one of the hamburger shops. My uncle worked there. My aunt worked there. I used to think it was neat but I grew out of that along with Disneyland, Six Flags and all that other junk. They are a great experience for small children but after 20 I would hope you have your eye on more intelligent pastimes.
