depends. With my 1st i waited because i felt it was right and money was no issues we bought gender neutral greens yellows tans whites. Only a few things that were differently girl or boy. With my 2ed we already had 1 child so it became important to know for $$ reason we knew it would be best to get a Lil ahead and buy 4 the future instead of trying to shop with a newborn and a two year old. With this my 3rd we found out just because it was nice with #2 to be mentally prepared 4 the baby and to call him her by name while pregnant and so the other kids now 8 and 10 could be ready and not be shocked or sad by one gender my daughter wanted a sister son wanted a brother i did not want any hurt feeling once the baby came one of them was bound to be upset. It's a boy it took my daughter a few days to get use to the ideal it was not a sister she's okay with it now i think it was better to be prepared.

Well, I think both are good choices it just depends on what you prefer.
Pros of knowing:
1. Able to get nursery ready before baby is born (unless the
nursery will be neutral)
2. It's helpful for your gift registry and baby shower if people know
what gender your baby is
Pros of waiting:
1. Excitement at birth to find out if its a boy or a girl!
It all depends on what you want. I think its easier for people who don't have a whole lot of money to know the gender because they can prepare for the birth (nursery, clothes, etc) long before the baby is born. But I don't know how much money you make and its really none of my business anyway :)
Either way, you are going to have a beautiful baby in about 5 months. If you are really curious, find out. If you want it to be a surprise then wait!
Good luck and congratulations on your little baby!!

How bad do you want to be surprised? Or are you ready to start buying gender appropriate clothes? I found out the gender of my son before he was born so I could already have the nursery done when he came home. If you don't want to find out though and you are going to decorate the baby's room, decorate it in something fit for a girl or a boy. Disney characters are always a safe bet because boys and girls of all ages like Mickey and Pooh Bear. Or even Warner Brother's like Bugs and Tweety. Good luck and congrats on having a baby.

I agree that it is a personal choice. Decide why you would and why you would not want to know if you are having a boy or a girl. To me the important thing is that the baby is healthy with ten little fingers and ten little toes. My daughter had two ultra sounds. One was done the night before her daughter was born. In both cases, the doctor said she was having a boy. To say the least she was very surprised to get another girl. The doctor said this was the longest cord she had ever seen and because of this, the other doctor thought she was having a boy.

You have a while to wait, so when the time comes, do what you feel in your heart is right. There are benefits from finding out the gender, such as clothes selection etc., but there is also the element of surprise. Good luck and congrats!

At 6 weeks they can NOT tell what the baby is although yes, at 14 weeks SOME doctors can tell you. Although he MIGHT tell you that you have to even wait longer. I found out mine at 14 weeks! If you REALLY want to know then I would say go for it! I DID! Mine is a boy and I won't be 15 till Monday! CONGRATS!

Unless you're just anxious to find out, I think the surprise at birth is worth waiting for. Although I understand it might be easier to prepare for the baby when you know its sex, keep in mind that women for many years didn't find out the sex until birth and still managed very well. It's a personal choice, I guess. For me, I'd wait.

Personally I like to be prepared, but I heard one couple say that there are few true surprises in life and this can be a joyous one. So I say just go with your gut. I'm one of those people who want to open presents early so I could never wait hehe. Good luck and Congrats!

I've read that the anticipation of not knowing the baby's gender is helpful during labor. I didn't find out for my first one, but for the subsequent ones I did. I was happy finding out as I could plan the rooms, clothing, etc....

With all that is happening in the world today my suggestion to you is to buy yellow, white and that cute green clothes and unisex outfits for your baby. That way if the scan is wrong then you don't be upset and angry at the doctor for giving you false hopes; Just hope and pray for a healthy baby and a safe delivery
