i have changed my power of the attorney and my will my understanding is that the trustee has know power when i took the power of the attorney away

If you've taken the power of attorney away from the named trustee, then they have no power. Just be sure they aren't also the Executor of the estate. (I'm not sure if they are the same but you may want to check into it to make sure).
I'm assuming that you've had an attorney do the paperwork for you and you've told him of the changes. He should take care of it for you if you have.
