We joke a lot, but recently he's come up with a new and original joke....but i dont find it funny - He is pretending to be engaged to me, as in he proposed to me and now im his fiance, just things like that - if i say something cheeky to him, he'd reply with something like "now now, thats no way to talk to your hubby now is it?!" o.O
How is that meant to be a funny joke!!?? He's not even young, he's 19 so he knows what he is doing.
I just dont get it!

Play along with his joke. He might be doing this knowing it bothers you so don't let him get the best of you. Do the following.
Well if he is pretending to be your husband then treat him like a real one. Tell hubby that the honeymoon is over now and that this is the real deal give him a list of things to do, give him instructions, etc., see how he complies with all of the demands of a true wife & husband marriage. And when the next time he says " that is no way to talk to your hubby" then tell him that you want a divorce....
Also keep in mind this might be his way of saying that he likes you and he wants more then just being friends but to shy to ask for a more serious relationship with you because of the fact the two of you being such good friends.

He is still a teenager. That's not very old to the rest of the world.
If he doesn't need therapy he needs some maturity.
I know a guy who does the same thing. He's in his early 20s. His problem is that he's gay and is trying to pretend he's not. I think he knows how annoying it is. That's why he never gets "lucky" with the girls he dates. I'm not saying your friend is gay but look for clues. It's a possibility.
I hope you don't have too much time invested in this relationship if that's what it is. You said male friend not boyfriend.

Hi think he is trying to tell you that he want to get engage to you and pretending to be engaged, He maybe doing this to see how you will act if he did purpose to you. So if you love him maybe you should say look if you want to propose to me why dont you just do it and stop acting like a kid because you are doing my head in. This says it all. If not just tell him if its his idea of asking you to marry him then hes got a funny way of going about it.

i think he really does want to be something more than just a friend, imagine if you were out one night with him and you saw a bloke that you fancied, you wouldnt stand a chance coz the "hubby" is with you....tell him to back off, tell him it's not funny, and tell him to get out of his little bubble and get real, as for being 19, i wish i was again,
