Most places like Benin and Nigeria waged war against weaker black kingdoms to enslave their people and sell them to the Euro traders for guns, cloth and other items. Pretty much how slavery has worked world wide since man first thought it was a good idea to have slaves.

Seriously?
I don't want to offend anyone of African ancestry, but most slaves were captured by Africans--usually from rival tribes--and sold to the traders. There was actually one place, that was like a huge feedlot. Slavery was the first real black-on-black crime.
